Description: Translated as “life energy cultivation,” qigong is a traditional Chinese internal art that combines breathing with slow, rhythmic movements that calm the mind and strengthen the body.  These one-hour classes consist of slow, gentle stretches that strength and tone the body while releasing stress and calming the mind. Qigong is a gentle introduction to Chinese internal martial arts but is beneficially practiced at all skill levels.

Born in Shanxi Province, China in 1891, Wang Ji Wu was known as an expert practitioner of Chinese internal martial arts and medicine. He believed that one could live a healthy and long life through qigong exercises and a nutritious diet. His sixteen health maintenance exercises increase strength and flexibility and can be practiced by anyone.
